Localization (L10N)

When facing the challenge of introducing products, web sites, and documentation to a global audience, our clients rely on us as partners.  We fulfill clients' wide-ranging localization requirements in myriad ways: from simultaneous delivery of multiple language translations (simship) to single language requirements; from complete outsourcing of their globalization needs to the creation of globalization business plans; and from localization and desktop publishing of manuals in various languages to localization of important individual reports.  We are adept at anticipating client needs, communicating effectively with clients throughout the project, and accommodating deadlines.

Our processes have evolved over time to make localization simple, efficient, and error-free.  An internal Project Tracking System supports these processes, and clients have access to this system for the duration of each engagement.

With a depth of knowledge in all the European, Asian, and Middle-Eastern languages, Localize is also adept with language variations: Canadian French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin American/South American/US Spanish.

Our Project Managers and Translators have years of collaborative experience.  Our team helps clients to establish language guidelines that are straightforward, devoid of slang, and reduce the risk of misinterpretation/mistranslation.

Having worked with numerous software companies, we understand the complexities of localizing their products.  This awareness is critical and serves our ability to translate software code, understand configuration issues, and remain aware of software build and release cycles . We have a depth of experience with all software platforms: Windows, Macintosh, Linux and, Unix.

We also build quality assurance into our process from end to end.
Some of the elements of our quality assurance process include:
  • analyzing the submitted materials carefully to identify text not to be translated, space issues, character restrictions, etc. to provide careful instructions to our translators
  • working on the proper hardware systems, operating systems, and development tools in each language to ensure final compatibility
  • Consulting with clients in the area of Single Sourcing to allow for the efficient re-use of content.
  • editing during and after the translation phase for linguistic issues, technical issues, contextual issues and consistency of terminology
  • insertion of in-country verifier comments
  • a final consistency review before project completion.

Having worked with over 200 clients on numerous localization projects, we have the experience to assist you, whatever your specific localization needs.
