Localization Project Manager

- Software and Internet Localization Industry

Job Description

We are looking for experienced leaders who can provide project management for the localization of software/documentation/help, and can deliver projects on schedule while meeting customer specifications on a profitable basis. Candidates should have proven team building/leadership skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and be Customer-focused. An interest in business development is advantageous Requirements Include:

Project Preparation

  • Responsible for ensuring contract review is completed by all relevant members of project team and archived in accordance with defined processes and procedures.
  • Write and distribute project plan to all team members and manager.

Project Quotation/pricing

- Review project requirements, come up with pricing and prepare proposal for customer. The project manager is responsible for updating the quotation as necessary throughout the project and tracking /informing the customer of any additional costs. These tasks are to be completed in conjunction with the Director of Project Delivery.

Project Budgeting

- Create project budget and distribute to the project team. The project manager should then track costs against budget for the duration of the project and ensure that the expected targets are achieved.

Project Scheduling

- Identify the necessary resources for the project and schedule these in conjunction with the Director of Project Delivery. The project manager is responsible for organizing the workload for resources and driving/monitoring this throughout the project. The project manager is responsible for creating the project schedule (with the teams input and agreement) and assigning resources to the project as above. The project manager is responsible for distributing the schedule and updating it on a weekly basis throughout the project.

Communication

- Write weekly project status reports and post-project report and distribute to the customer, project team and Localize management. Document project team-meeting minutes and distribute it to team members.

Work Environment

This position is based in our Redwood City, CA office. Overnight travel will be infrequent initially, but may increase to 3-5 days/month over time.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in software project management.
  • Ambition, drive, determination and self-discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedication to professional development and success.
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the localization industry is a big plus.

Education

  • BS or BA degree required.
